Cordon Bleu Bake
Ingredients:
4 cups cooked, shredded chicken
3 cups cooked ham, diced
1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup onion, chopped
½ stick butter
¼ cup flour
2 cups milk
1 t. dried dill
¼ t. dry mustard
¼ t. nutmeg
For topping:
1 cup bread crumbs
2 T. butter, melted
¼ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
¼ cup walnuts, chopped
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine cooked chicken, ham and cheese in a large bowl. In a sauce pan, sauté onion in butter until tender. Add flour and stir constantly to form a paste. Add milk slowly, stirring, to form a sauce. Cook 3-5 minutes until thick. Add dill, mustard and nutmeg. Remove from heat and pour sauce over meat mix in the bowl. Combine and spoon into a greased casserole dish. Toss bread crumbs in melted butter. Fold in cheese and walnuts. Sprinkle this over casserole and bake 30-35 minutes until hot and bubbly.
